Dr. G changed my experience in a positive way. She helped me make that transition to the American classroom and really encouraged me academically. I hold her close to my heart.

Community Builder. Documentarian.
At Â鶹ÊÓƵ, I was a Media Fellow. I was lucky enough to go off-campus for a semester to the where I had two internships that opened up a lot of opportunities for me in the field of documentary production. I met JP Olsen (now director of Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media) through that program.
The networks I built during my time at Â鶹ÊÓƵ and my internships have been meaningful and led to acceptance to a MFA Documentation program at UC Santa Cruz. It all started at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. It was scary coming from Mexico City to college in the US. My first contact was Loutfi Jirari, who convinced me to apply. I came to Â鶹ÊÓƵ having never set foot in Indiana before.
A professor who championed me and meant a lot to me was Leigh-Anne Goins. "Dr. G" changed my experience in a positive way. She helped me make the transition to the American classroom and really encouraged me academically. I hold her close to my heart. Â鶹ÊÓƵ was a community for which I'm grateful. I still have a lot of classmates I'm close to.
